"If I have any beliefs about immortality, it is that certain dogs I have known will go to heaven, and very, very few persons."

Just as we have a responsibility to our pets, we also have a responsibility to our communities. Here are a few things to keep in mind to help our pets remain welcomed citizens where we live.
Aggressive behavior, except in response to a real threat, is never acceptable. Jumping up, biting, scratching and especially attacking behaviors need to be controlled.
Nobody likes relentless barking. A dog that barks uncontrollably may have an emotional issue that needs to be addressed.
Waste and destroying property can be big problems that turn a neighborhood against dogs. It's incumbent on all owners to pick up after their pets and to rectify any destructive behavior.
Trespassing is dangerous for pets and people alike. Most municipalities have leash laws that require you to keep your pet under control when it is off your property.
